We had a fire at our business last year, lost a lot of stuff, including some vintage BMX stuff I had on display in my office.

One lost piece was an NOS Redline Brute stem, that bummed me out, they are hard to get in pristine condition.

I found some replacement Brutes on ebay, one in pretty nice shape, and two that weren’t. I had an idea to send the two rougher ones to Spectrum Powder Works here in Colorado and have them done in Redline colors. I am not building with them, just for display. They came back yesterday, and I think they turned out pretty well. The red and white is awfully sharp. They even hand painted the Redline up the middle for me. These are mid 80′s stems, an iconic piece of BMX history.

Redline RL-20 II Flatland Freestyle 20″ BMX survivor

I bought this in 2011 as an out-of-the-attic survivor. I had been casually watching for a complete ever since I sold my refinished red RL-20II frameset to Juan in a Million. This one fit the bill, and the timing was right.

Robinson 24″ 1983 Cruiser BMX – vintage looptail

Old school Robinson 24″ looptail cruiser, these are a lot harder to find than the mid school Robinsons, which I also have. I got this from the original owner, longtime vintage collector Tom P. Pads and plate are original. Great shape, rides great, I have raced this in the Vintage Race Series here in Colorado.

Von Franco designed Dyno Taboo Tiki Beach Cruiser 26″

Nicci’s cruiser, I got this in the early 2000′s, brand new. Fun bike, looks cool, fun to ride. Dyno made these for just a moment, as part of a designer series. There are a group of collectors for this Dyno series, which included a variety of different themes, with the Taboo Tiki being the most popular.

We had a fantastic winter trip to Hawaii in January and February 2010. Nicci’s sister Jenel and her husband Chip were able to come out for a week. It was their first real vacation anywhere, and it was really a special time.
